Sherry began her professional performing journey by playing lead roles in musicals in Portland, Oregon. Considered a triple threat, she dominated the stage with her rich alto voice, her strong ability to dance, and enthusiastic character portrayals. Her prominent presence in the Portland Musical Theater scene attracted representatives from Carnival Cruise Lines. Later she moved to Florida to perform for Carnival Cruise Lines as a singer and dancer. It was there where she would frequently sit in with the house jazz band dominating the show with her natural gift for entertaining a crowd and interpreting a song.

Upon returning to Oregon, Sherry began singing in the vocal jazz trio - EUPHORIA. She would continue to sing throughout the Northwest with the
group for ten years. They produced one album. Euphoria was honored to open for Mel Torme' in 1993 at the Hult Center in Eugene, Oregon.

Sherry has performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival, Rotterdam, South Holland, and The Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland. Additionally, she has performed at many festivals through the Northwest including the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival, the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival and the Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival.

She has performed with Chris Baum on TheSteely Dan Project and with Barbara Ayars in "Natural Women" a tribute to Carol King, Linda Rondstadt, and Melissa Manchester.

She has performed with Portland musicians: George Mitchell, Bobby Torres, Dave Captein, Kevin Deitz, Craig Snazell, Mark Powers, Brent Follis, Christopher Woitach, Dan Gildea, Pete Peterson, Kirt Peterson, Kurt Deutscher, Jean-Pierre Garu, Michael Braun, Craig Bidondo, Christopher Baum, Bo Ayars, Barbara Ayars, and Margaret Linn.

Sherry recently recorded her first solo, self-titled, album. The CD features the musical contributions from her husband, Duane Summerville, an accomplished Jazz vocalist in his own right. The album showcases Sherry's most requested songs and showcases her rich alto voice and a vast range of musical styles.
